A curious plot twist is that the film makes a point of showing that Bhoothnath is not a ghost, but a'supernatural being' - something quite different from the concept of a ghost, which is portrayed as an inhabitant of the dead. The plot continues to make a point of pushing the theme of ghosts as benevolent beings and their non-threatening behaviour. The ghosts of this film are portrayed as friendly and light-hearted. And yet the film also makes a point of highlighting the darker side of ghosts. But that's not the only strange thing in the script. It tries to make a philosophical point and even goes to the length of dragging in the concept of 'zombie'. This is mixed with a story that makes sense, but is a little hard to digest. There are three films in the series, but only this one of them is worthy of a place in the 'Bhoothnath' family. And for the next film, let's hope the company gives the whole weight to its actors and casts. If you are looking for a home-run entertainment, give this a miss. Watch a ghost story if you want to scare. For this, you will need to remember the ghost of 'Bhoot Returns'.
