Well, I put everything back to how it was before and reinstalled both programmes and opened 3d max 2013 and Inventor Pro 2014 and everything was fine. No problems. I then decided to upgrade Inventor Pro 2014 to Inventor Pro 2015 and this was the problem. Inventor 2015 is not compatible with 3ds max 2013 for windows 8.1. It says that it is.
Alright, so I have been trying to fix this for a week now. First, I uninstalled 3ds max 2014, then I installed it, I deleted preferences and then tried to reinstall it, I used the downloaded version and uninstalled it (the one that was downloaded from the website), I used the installer on the disk and started it up, I tried to run it on my own and it failed and then I tried to run it on the recommended platform and it failed. I think my hard drive is about to die because I re-installed it like 8 times, then I tried to start the other version of max 2014, the one that was pre-installed on my Macbook and it failed too, I tried to start it on windows and it crashed. Now I am having trouble even trying to run it on my Macbook. I have a i5 processor 2.2GHZ 8GB ram, and I am using xubuntu 14.04. Any advice?
I am very new to this kind of thing and not sure what else I could possibly do as I have nothing to go on to see what I have done wrong. I do know that I will have to convert the furniture I designed to 3ds max 2015 as they are all based on the 2014 version and the 3ds max 2014 release. But I don't want to be without 3ds max for a while as I can't seem to find anywhere that will give me a solution to this problem. I have attached my log file as well and I do hope someone can help me out.
I have tried completely re-installing 3ds max 2014, the service pack, reinstalling Inventor pro as well as deleting all 3ds max 2013 files as well as re-making the projects in 3ds max 2013. I have also uninstalled all my external drives to make sure everything was clear of any garbage.
