Foot reflexology chart is essential tools used in medicine to understand the foot reflexology points. The main purpose of the reflexology map is to control the entire immune system. It is also used to improve blood circulation in your body.
The inside chart covers the most important parts of the body. The areas covered by this chart are the sciatic nerve, lymphatic system, spine, and bladder. By knowing foot reflexology inside the chart, you can treat the parts easily fall on the inside chart.
The sole chart is very easy to understand and learn. The eyes, ears, lungs, heart, stomach, teeth, top of the head, pancreas, and your whole legs are covered by it. This chart specifies the body organs clearly.
The toes of your foot have meridian points which are located on the biggest toe, second toe, fourth toe, and last toe. They cover your gall bladder, spleen, liver, stomach, and bladder. You may also like Unit Circle Charts & Diagrams.
Foot reflexology is a medical therapy that uses different techniques to apply some targeted pressure and massage on specific points of the foot. It is also known as zone therapy. There are some points known as reflex points on the feet. These points are connected to certain body parts and organs via some energy channels in the human body. By pressing certain reflex points, you can remove energy blockages to promote health and can relieve pressure in the related body part. For instance, reflex points on toes are energetically connected to your brain. By applying pressure on your toes, you can relieve and refresh your mind.
According to research, stress and tension are the main cause of creating blocks in your body. Reflexology is the main source to keep people away from stress and tiredness. It maintains your body balance as well as provides you energy to perform your daily activities with more power and determination. Furthermore, reflexology reduces pain and puts you in a state of relaxation. It also helps you to strengthen blood circulation.
There are more than 800 pressure points and only 15 of them are found on the feet. However, almost all parts of the body are connected to the reflex points on the foot. The left foot contains reflex points of all organs located on the left side of your body and similar to the right foot. On the soles of every foot, there are generally four reflexology points. In all five toes, there are different points corresponding to the eyes, ears, and sinuses.
The procedure of foot reflexology is not similar to massage and other treatments. Its process is very relaxing and soothing and you get a good sleep after having the treatment. At first, the patient and the therapist discuss what kind of stress does the patient has and where does the patient normally feels pain. Then, they discuss the therapy they will go about it. Keep yourself relax during the treatment. The time required for the foot reflexology is about 40 to 45 minutes. Moreover, there is no need to use special tools because therapy is done with just one tool i.e. the hand and its movements.
For applying pressure, therapists use their forefinger and thumb and some bend their thumbs. While some use the eraser at the end of the pencil to apply pressure on the feet. Keep in mind that reflexology is just a relaxing treatment that communicates the nervous system with the reflex points in your foot. However, it is not a medical treatment but it provides you relief for some time without using medicines.
The benefits of foot reflexology are not just physical. This method also boosts your emotional and mental health. People with stress and anxiety seek the services of a reflexologist. You should also check Free Project Charter Template Examples & Samples.
Reflexology is a branch of alternate medicine or the science of using the various pressure points in our body to relive stress or pain. There are several reflex or pressure centers in our body like a particular thumb or finger, or hand and reflexology stimulates them using any external materials like lotions and oils. The good news? Current literature suggests that foot reflexology may help in a variety of health issues. It could help migraine, back pain, and anxiety when used as a complementary therapy. That means it might be helpful working together with other types of treatment.
Stuck in an anxiety spiral? A foot reflexology sesh might be just what you need! One study notes that pain, anxiety, and fatigue levels decreased significantly in patients after 15 days of foot reflexology.
The general purpose of 'reflex zone therapy' (a.k.a. reflexology) is to 'balance' the nervous system. Reflexologists usually use an approach where the body is divided into ten equal vertical zones: five zones on the right side of the body + five zones on the left side of the body (e.g. the first zone corresponds with the thumb in the hand and the big toe in the foot). This vertical approach goes parallel to Chinese philosophy of the meridians & the medical so-called 'dermatomes' (= areas of skin that are mainly supplied by a single spinal nerve); However, there is no direct connection between the 10 vertical reflex zones and 12 meridians, nor do these concepts directly relate to the physical nerve system. This implicates that in general hand reflexology & foot reflexology can be recognized to represent massage techniques that are quite similar to the reflex points & techniques used in acupressure (and the philosophy behind acupuncture).
The word reflexology is derived from the so-called 'reflex arc', which refers to a neural pathway that controls an action reflex. Formally, there are two types of reflex arc: 'autonomic reflex arc' (affecting inner organs) and 'somatic reflex arc' (affecting muscles); reflexology can be associated with the first type. This implicates that (hand) reflexology should not be associated with casual uses of the terms: 'reflex', 'hand reflex' and 'primitive reflexes'.
Unfortunately, there is no consensus among hand reflexologists about how reflexology exactly is supposed to work. For example: in many hand reflexology charts the heart is located at the radial side of the hand card (sometimes it gets associated with the 2nd phalange of the thumb) - which sort of represents the opposite of the principle described by the meridian philosophy.
Some reflexologists even claim that the zones in reflexology maps represent only approximates and may vary from person to person. Hand reflexology experts generally work with charts that propose sort of a likewise model for various internal organs & body parts. However, most individual reflexology hand charts do show some significant differences compared to other charts.
Many reflexology hand charts are available on the internet; charts are being presented in various formats, and many printable reflexology hand charts are available. However, for people who are not familiar with the basics of hand reflexology might get confused by the fact that many hand maps display unique characteristics - which often reflect the personal view of the hand map designer. Authors dispute the representative locations in the hand that may get associated with the eyes and the heart, so these aspects belong to the key-elements of disagreement in hand reflexology.
In general, in most charts the eyes get associated with one or more sections of the index finger and/or middle finger. In some Western hands reflexology charts the eyes are associated with the 2nd phalange of the index finger (see chart 1) or the middle finger (see chart 2). But in the Korean 'Koryo hand therapy' charts the eyes are placed on the tip of the middle finger (see chart 3). The fundamentals of hand reflexology are described & discussed inside the section hand reflexology.
How come that various charts present different locations for body parts? It is quite hard to answer this question, because usually it is a bit of a mystery how the experts have developed their reflexology models. A hand reflexologist usually claim that hand reflexology represent a system of zones and reflex areas that reflect an image of the body on the hands, with the premise that hand reflexology effects a physical change to the body.
A stricking characteristic of this India chart concerns the association for the heart withthe left palmar zone below the pinky finger, where the heart meridian & the heart line cross each other; just like in the CMax Acupalm chart & the Breo iPalm520 chart, both are displayed in the tips-section below!
(NOTICE: Just like in the first chart the eyes are located more radial than the ears, with the difference that here the eyes are associated with the palmar zone below the index- and middle finger, and the ears with the palmar zone below the ring- and pinky finger - which again makes sensein the following perspective: radial side = inner world, ulnar side = outer world)
A striking characteristic of the Korean hand chart concerns the fact that the spine is located inthe dorsal central axis of the hand (in the other 3 charts the spine is located at the radial side of the thumb).
A fascinating application of reflexology is found in some massage technologies such as the C|Max AcuPalm and the iPalm520 Hand Massager (see video on the right): both products are featured with a unique hand reflexology chart - see the charts above!
TIP: Combining hand reflexology points acupressure with aromatherapy (or some other additional relaxation massage therapy) will likely add additional value to the well-being & pleasure or your client!
