Facebook Not Liking HTC Sense

Instead of the iPhone 3G's glossy finish, the First is built out of matte plastic, though it's high quality enough that you could use the fancier term "polycarbonate" and get away with it. The finish of my white unit is is very close to what you get on its larger cousin, the HTC One X. Imagine the One X and the iPhone 3GS has a torrid affair one sultry evening and you get a sense of what the First looks and feels like.
What I don't like is the sometimes random order of updates. Your Cover Feed starts at the latest update when you turn the phone on, and for the most part they go in order as you swipe to the left, but not always. I would often see an update from 39 minutes ago, followed by an update from 5 hours ago, and then another update from 54 minutes ago. When updates went out of sync like this, I first assumed I reached the end of my most recent updates and stopped swiping. But when I saw some updates continually repeating themselves, I realized they were being presented out of order, which doesn't make sense.
Hold things steady, though, and daytime pictures are good. Colors could do with being a little more vivid for our liking, though that's easily tweaked with some post-processing; odder was the noticeable purple tint the Salsa gave the overcast skies in our sample shots. Meanwhile the exposure and white balance can be sluggish to react to changes in lighting. Give it a few seconds longer, though, and it generally catches up.
Rather than build a complete platform from scratch, it makes sense for Facebook to leverage Android and deliver something like Home which essentially is part launcher replacement, part UI skin. Home will be available on April 12 through the Play Store for a limited subset of devices - the HTC One X, X+, Samsung Galaxy S 3, and Note 2, and in the coming months the Galaxy S 4 and HTC One. What's interesting is that subset of devices which Home will work with, it's a bit more than a launcher replacement since it is intercepting some notifications from the OS.
Alex Roth of TechRadar gave the HTC First a 3.5 out of 5, praising its build quality and operating system (feeling that the First could "develop a sort of second life as the mid-range of choice among Google geeks" due to its use of stock Android and LTE support) and considering it to possibly be "the last decent dual-core handset ever made", but considered Facebook Home to be a "glorified screensaver", and also criticized the camera's low quality and the lack of a dedicated shutter button (which Roth believed would have made sense on a Facebook-oriented phone).[14]
May be used to represent feces and other bathroom topics as well as stand in for their many related slang terms. It also enjoys a wide range of idiosyncratic applications, such as conveying a sense of whimsy or silliness, given its fun, happy expression.
While the Quest 2 focuses on freedom of movement and ease of use with its standalone design, the Vive Pro 2 seeks to bring your body and hands into VR in as much detail as possible. Setup involves placing two HTC SteamVR Base Station 2.0 devices in elevated locations; you can either mount them on a wall or set them on a shelf. Then, they communicate with your headset and controllers to create a strong sense of presence within VR. When you move your hands or take three steps, so does your in-game body.
Yeah same thing for me. Most of my facebook contacts are gone from my contact list. I just got 40 contacts from Facebook only if I filter my group jut to show Facebook contacts, though I have 330 friends in Facebook.
hopes Apple aware of it and get this done. Worst part for me is I already manual linked facebook contacts with iCloud Contacts. Not sure what it will be shown if Apple fixed it, is it i have to manual link it together again by myself, or it still will keep track/history of the linkage.
Same Here. I have 123 friends on facebook but only 40 contacts now from facebook. If I try to update my contacts through the facebook settings, it always comes back with 0 contacts updated. I'm not able to update any contacts. Also a lot of images of my contacts are gone and won't update. Things were working fine yesterday. Just noticed this today. Any word on a fix?
Otherwise, the only difference appears to be the software platform. The U.S. version of the headset will be based off Google's Daydream, and China's will be based off Viveport. Seeing as how Google is blocked in China, it makes sense for HTC to use an alternative app store for that specific market.
A lot of research has been done into just how fast these sensors need to be. Games god John Carmack joined Oculus in 2013, studying precisely how tight the sensor-display feedback needed to be to produce a sense of immersion.
It's matter of timing. If you want to ship device right now, today, then 256MB is somewhat cheaper then 512MB (and 1GB is significantly more expensive), but 128MB make no sense already. Year from now it'll be 512MB for cheapest reasonable option and 1GB will be only marginally more costly. Two (perhaps three) years from now 1GB will be reasonable minimum. 2b1af7f3a8
